Windows Mobile cleanRAM Getting to 1.5.8 beta Version

htcAddicts have released a new beta version of the popular cleanRAM application, a utility that is advertised to save users the trouble of Soft Reset by cleaning and freeing up device memory based on preprogrammed application patterns grouped in levels. Read on!

Being a memory reclaimer, it will close down applications and processes running in the background on a Windows Mobile Professional 6 and above device (especially useful for devices featuring TouchFLO 3D like the Diamond, Touch Pro, Diamond2, Touch Pro2 and Touch HD).

The way it works is simple: it looks in the currently running programs and processes list for applications and processes matching preconfigured patterns grouped as follows (quote):

There are 3 levels of cleaning and Personally customized processes list:
* Level 1 - Basic purge only (quick) - Close non-responding tasks and troublemaker applications (without TouchFLO)
* Level 2 - Quality purge - Recommended for best performance
* Level 3 - Fundamental purge (time-consuming) - Reset non-responding tasks and services, maximum clean up!

There's no such thing as installation; all you need to do is download the application and save it anywhere on your device. It consists of a language folder and three executables, one for configuration (where you select the level of cleaning to be used, access the scheduler, customize settings), one for scheduling and the actual cleaner. Just create shortcuts to a place of your choice (long tap to copy the application and then long tap to paste as shortcut) or lauch straight from your file manager.
