Guitar Hero 6, DJ Hero 2 On Track For This Fall 2010

Guitar Hero franchise has sold 44 million units to date.

May 6, 2010 - Activision COO Thomas Tippl confirmed on today's financial call new titles from the publisher's two most popular music franchises will be coming this fall. The company previously stated a new Guitar Hero and DJ Hero game would be coming sometime in 2010. The release windows for both titles have, as expected, been narrowed down to this coming fall.

"This fall, we expect to launch Guitar Hero 6, and soon after, the next DJ Hero," said Tippl. "This year, we've added more great, original music, new and innovative gameplay modes, and a significantly enhanced social gameplay experience. We expect to follow each release with a full lineup of exciting downloadable content."

He also said the Guitar Hero franchise has sold 44 million titles to date. In February, Activision stated it would be scaling back the number of music game releases from 25 in 2009 to just 10 this year.

Tippl later reaffirmed fall 2010 releases for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Tony Hawk: Shred, and the still unnamed James Bond game. It's expected many of these titles will revealed for the first time at E3 next month.
