January 7, 2010 - Bungie is gearing up for its winter Pentathlon, an internal gaming competition that it describes as a "celebration of gaming." Such things are rarely newsworthy unless you consider studio morale to be exciting. This year, however, the Winter Pentathlon announcement holds a tease.

Tucked within the other games up for competition – which includes the likes of Pictionary, hacky sack, and ODST Firefight – is a listing for the Halo: Reach Super Secret Game Mode. Here's the description of what that is, in all its cryptic glory.

"Some number of players will square off against some number of other players in what will undoubtedly be a rousing and highly competitive game of something we're not talking about yet!

Points awarded for doing all kinds of untold stuff!"
