Maxime Beland, Creative Director for Ubisoft’s upcoming title Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell: Conviction, has revealed that if there was one thing that he wished the team could have implemented into the final game to please fans, it would have been to carry dead bodies. However they “didn’t have enough time” and it wasn’t something needed to be done within the new gameplay style.
Speaking at the recent launch event for the game, he stated “The number one thing that I would have liked to bring for the fans is obviously carrying dead bodies. It is not something that we needed to do at all for the new gameplay that we’ve created, but I know a lot of fans would have liked that and I would have liked to be able to do it. We basically didn’t have time, so we weren’t able to pull it off.”
Beland commented that there was always the opportunity to expand the experience through downloadable content, revealing that the team already had “some notes already for the future,” whilst also confirming that “Sam’s story is definitely not over.”
For Splinter Cell fans out there, what are your thoughts on this? Are you going to miss being tasked with hiding dead bodies in darkness?
