Microsoft has made a bit of a switcheroo with the way in which MS Points are issued. Now the increments they're sold in will actually make sense, matching the prices of most XBox Live Arcade games.
Points bundles of 400, 800 and 1200 will now replace the previous bundles sold in increments of 500, leaving inconvenient spare points that would often be left unused.
Microsoft are sticking to their guns with their points system then, while PS3 users get the transparency of proper pricetags in real world currency. Still, MS claim that the points system was never designed to mislead, hence the change in points bundles for the US to make things a little clearer.
Hopefully the new system will be put in place for other territories soon, although there's currently no word on any such plans.
