Beenox Studios heading up development.
March 24, 2010 - New details about Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions have surfaced.
The new game will be unveiled during a planned Activision panel at Wonder Con in San Francisco next week. A listing for the panel on the official website confirms the game's appearance, but also spills new details.
According to the listing, Canada-based Beenox Studios will be heading development on the title. The team last worked on licensed consoles titles such as Bee Movie Game, Monsters vs. Aliens, and Guitar Hero Smash Hits. Studio Creative Director Thomas Wilson and Activision Senior Producer Meghan Morgan will be on hand to discuss the game.
Famed Marvel writer Dan Slott (The Mighty Avengers, Amazing Spider-Man, and She-Hulk comic book series) and actor Christopher Daniel Barnes (voice of Spider-Man TV series, 1994-1998) will also be making an appearance at the panel.
As for the game itself, it seems Spider-Man won't be contained to one central city. Fans are told to "prepare to be surprised with the unique, unexpected worlds Spider-Man will adventure through in Activision's latest foray," the listing says.
Shattered Dimensions is also said to feature a new universe "never before seen in Spider-Man video games" and includes two "new villains."
