“Today with great pride I introduce the next generation of Windows Phones to the world, Windows Phone 7 Series,” stated Steve Ballmer, Chief Executive Officer at Microsoft. “”n a market crowded with phones that look and behave the same way, I challenged the team to push the edge of the envelope and deliver a different kind of mobile experience. Windows Phone 7 Series is the turning point, where phones finally move with people at the speed and fluency of their lives.”
Whilst the phone will offer users a dynamically-updated “tile” menu, Bing, Facebook, Windows Live, Photos and access to Microsoft Office applications, I’m sure that it will be the new Zune and Xbox Live integration that will remain exclusive to the 7 series.
This marks the first and only official Xbox Live experience on a phone, that will incorporate Xbox Live games, friends leaderboards alongside the ability to be able to see gamer’s Avatars, Achievements and Gamer Profiles. With over 23 million Xbox Live users across the globe, it’s bound to be an incredibly good selling point for the new range of mobiles.
The Windows Phone 7 Series are expected to release across all operators including Orange, O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone and manufacturers Dell, Garmin-Asus, HTC, HP, LG, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Toshiba and Qualcomm Incorporated. They’re expected to be available by Christmas 2010.
