Details and images of Assassin's Creed II: Lineage emerge.
UK, July 23, 2009 - We told you earlier this week that Ubisoft will be producing a series of short films based around Assassin's Creed II. Now more details have emerged about the project, including the first pictures, from The LA Times.
They reveal that there will be three short films, each running at 10-15 minutes long and shot at Ubisoft's Hybride Technologies - the special effects house they acquired last year which did effects work on Spy Kids and 300.
Yves Simoneau is directing the project - called 'Lineage' - which is prequel to the game and focuses on the father of game's hero, renaissance assassin Ezio.
Apparently 70 per cent of the 'sets' of the short films - shot almost entirely on green screen - are taken directly from the game. Most of the actors involved in the motion capture and voice-acting are also being used for the shorts.
Ubisoft hasn't given out specific release dates, but says the films will be released separately leading up to the game and then possibly bundled together in a DVD later on.
Expect more info on this project after the Assassin's Creed II panel at Comic-Con later today.
