Stuart Beattie Pens Halo Spec Script

Latino Review, which assures this is not an April Fools' joke, says that Stuart Beattie has independently written a new spec script (definition) for the Halo video game adaptation.
Bungie, Peter Jackson, Scott Stuber, Fox and Universal went through three writers before the plug was pulled last summer when Neil Blomkampf was attached to direct.
Beattie (upcoming Australia and G.I. Joe) has written a screenplay titled "Halo: Fall of Reach," based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Eric Nylund. Will Bungie and the studios take another look at this script? Either way, you can check out story details here.
